True Romance Puzzle Available through Barnes and Noble!

Stories of true romance abound today as regular features in magazines and newspapers, but little is known about the man who first popularized this genre in America. In 1919 Bernarr McFadden launched True Story Magazine, devoted to tales of love written “by real people, not by paid writers.” The success of this magazine led him to create others–including True Love and True Romances, which became the very first celebrity-gossip magazines published in America. Their lushly hand-painted covers–many by artist Jules Cannert, famous for his pastel portraits of glamorous Hollywood stars of the day–became a signature style that is still in vogue.

BroadLit is proud to reintroduce the stories and images from the golden years of both True Love and True Romance Magazines with the TruLOVE Collection
