Survey Says! What Single Men and Women Want

What do men want in a woman? What do women want in a man? A new survey by MarketTools Inc. for the dating website Match.com offers some answers.

The survey, as reported by USA Today, asked 5,500 unattached men and women 21 and older what qualities they judge most in the opposite sex. Singles were asked to rate their “must haves” for relationships.

According to the survey, 48% of single women and 38% of single men research a date on Facebook, and 38% of singles said they would cancel a date because of something they found about the person on the Internet.

If you can believe it, teeth and grammar were high up on the list of importance to both men and women.

About 42% of singles said they would not date a virgin, but 49% said they would get into a committed relationship with someone who still lived with their parents.

Both sexes say humor is an important quality in a potential partner, and when it comes to finances, 65% would not date someone with credit card debt greater than $5,000; 54% would not date someone with substantial student loan debt.
