olivia munn2Olivia Munn is feeling pretty super human at the moment. The former model and actress was recently cast by Marvel as the sexy and mysterious assassin, Psylocke in the new X-Men movie. She recently wrapped filming of the Aaron Sorkin hit series, The Newsroom.  As if that weren’t good enough, Munn is also madly in love with and dating MVP quarterback Aaron Rodgers. Good things seem to happen to good people, and Munn is no exception.

psylockeOlivia Munn was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Her mother, Kim Schmid, is of Chinese descent, and her father, Winston Munn, is American, of English, Irish, and German ancestry. Olivia attended the University of Oklahoma, majoring in journalism and minoring in Japanese and dramatic arts.

After graduating, she became an intern at the NBC affiliate in Tulsa, and later moved to Los Angeles to pursue an acting career. In 2004, Munn interned at Fox Sports Net and worked as a sideline reporter for college football and women’s basketball. From here she was cast on the video game tech program, Attack of the Show, where she co-hosted for 4 years. She didn’t know much about the video game world, but quickly became savvy enough to make even the die-hard gamers fall in love with her. Soon afterwards, the movie and television roles began to flow and Munn found herself acting opposite celebrities such as Steve Carrell, Robert Downey Jr., Jeff Daniels, and Channing Tatum.

The sky seems to be the limit for this up and coming A-lister. With her recent success and new-found fortune, Munn has been involved with several important charties.

Her Cause

Rodgers even went door-to-door with an 11 year old girl named Annie, who recently lost her brother to pediatric cancer, to raise awareness of the gold in September initiative. Munn campaigned for the leading animal rights organization, PETA, to help free a sick elephant from a touring circus. Her campaign against wearing fur included going nude for PETA’s fur drive with the slogan, “I’d rather go naked than wear fur.” She has pledged her support to Stand Up 2 Cancer and UNICEF as well.
