Jason Bateman Sinks Teeth Into The Family Fang

Actor Jason Bateman is set to star in and direct The Family Fang, an adaptation of the Kevin Wilson bestseller. Nicole Kidman will also star in the film, which will start shooting next year. The novel is the story of Annie and Buster Fang, who have spent most of their adult lives trying to distance themselves from their famous artist parents, Caleb and Camille. But when a bad economy and a few bad personal decisions converge, the two siblings have nowhere to turn but their family home. Reunited under one roof for the first time in more than a decade and surrounded by the souvenirs of their unusual upbringing, Buster and Annie are forced to confront not only their creatively ambitious parents, but the chaos and confusion of their childhood. Growing up their parents, who chose art over parenting, referred to them as Child A (Annie) and Child B (Buster). The children were the unwilling stars of their parents’ chaotically subversive work. When the parents disappear from an interstate rest stop, the lines separating art and life dissolve. Annie and Buster must face hard truths about family relationships, which leave them wondering if they are constructing our own lives, or merely taking part in others’.
